01Our Vision

Forget Me Not Ministries (FMN) is a non-profit 501(c )3 organization with sponsorship from churches in the United States of America, Canada, and England, as well as personal individuals or small groups desiring to invest in the lives of others in Romania.

FMN is based off of two Bible verses that inspire, guide, and represent our work in Romania, the first one is:

“Can a mother forget and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you.” Isaiah 49:15

The second verse that inspired the work that FMN Ministries does is:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

We carry a burden to provide hope and a future for the children and families who are left behind, forgotten, and discarded. Our motto is:

Educating, equipping and embracing the Roma for Christ!

02Our History

Rachel Ross, the founder of Forget Me Not Ministries, is a Lincoln Christian College (USA) graduate, who had prayed for the opportunity to do God’s work in Romania since she was 13 years old living in Las Vegas, Nevada. Little did she know, God would not only answer that prayer, but would bless her beyond belief by the lives of the abandoned and abused children she would care for, the Roma (Gypsy) families, and those who were faithful in serving alongside her in Romania as well.

Rachel has been involved in non-profit work in Romania since 1999, and moved to Oradea, Romania permanently in 2003. In the summer of 2003, she met and fell instantly in love with her (now) daughter, Izabella Faith, while working with abandoned babies at a children’s hospital. After a long journey and many prayers, Bella’s adoption was finalized in January 2010.

It was there in the children’s hospital that Rachel looked into the sweet faces of hundreds of abandoned Roma (Gypsy) babies and prayed to God for what her next step would be? She was then led to a large Gypsy village on the outskirts of a town called Tinca. As Rachel entered into the village she was broken-hearted as she saw small children running around in the snow with nothing more on than a t-shirt, and parents begging for bread. She began to pray for a solution, and God heard her cry!

Rachel officially began an organization in The United States (Forget Me Not Ministries) and an association in Romania (Asociatia Nu Te Voi Uita). FMN Ministries runs and facilitates several projects to help raise the Roma to higher quality of life, provide jobs, train teen moms, provide a refuge for the abandoned and abused, child care for children born out of child marriages, education and tutoring, micro enterprise training, Bible studies, and more…with the sole purpose and intent of glorifying God in all that is done. There are currently over 100 Roma adults and children benefiting from FMN’s programs daily.

Rachel is thankful for each life that God brings her and the FMN team in contact with, and rejoices in the comfort of knowing that God hears each child’s cry and knows their pains and has a plan and a future for their precious lives!

03Our Purpose

FMN strives to help at-risk Roma (Gypsy) children and families in Romania realize that they are not forgotten by God and to assist in their development, provide for their protection, and to secure their future with hope from God.

We seek to provide stability and nurture for neglected children by meeting their emotional, mental, physical, spiritual, and social needs.

FMN offers training, employment, Bible studies, and education to parents with the vision of breaking the generational cycles of abandonment and abuse, which dominates many Roma societies; with the goals of empowering the Roma, and creating community development.
