What Books Are You Cozying Up To This Fall?

Fall Fun: 3 of my Favorite Books

Fall Weather Fun: 3 of My Favorite Books – Have You Read Any of These?

As we are transitioning seasons and embracing fall weather…it’s always nice to cozy up with a good book.

One thing that God used to guide me through seasons of transition was a good book. Often times, it was a transition that I was not planning on but was challenged to embrace through the book.

If you’re in a season of transition, looking to deepen your walk, or just want a good read on a chilly fall day, consider checking these out. There are tons of great titles out there, but these were really meaningful to me.

VISIONEERING by Andy Stanley

One of my favorites quotes from this book was:

“God is using your circumstances to prepare you to accomplish His vision for your life. Your present circumstances are part of the vision. You are not wasting your time. You are not spinning your wheels. You are not wandering in the wilderness. If you are ‘seeking first’ His kingdom where you are, then where you are is where He has positioned you. And He has positioned you there with a purpose in mind.”

WHEN HELPING HURTS by Steve Corbett

One of my favorite quotes from this book was:

“If we reduce human beings to being simply physical—as Western thought is prone to do—our poverty-alleviation efforts will tend to focus on material solutions. But if we remember that humans are spiritual, social, psychological, and physical beings, our poverty-alleviation efforts will be more holistic in their design and execution.”

IT’S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THIS WAY by Lysa Terkeurst

One of my favorite quotes from this book was (currently reading atm):

“Humans are very attached to outcomes. We say we trust God but behind the scenes we work our fingers to the bone and our emotions into a tangled fray trying to control our outcomes. We praise God when our normal looks like what we thought it would. We question God when it doesn’t. And walk away from Him when we have a sinking suspicion that God is the one who set fire to the hope that was holding us together.”

What are some of your favorites? I’d love to hear them — especially if you’re in a season of transition. Write me back!
