Five for Friday – Jumpstart your prayer life!
Hope your week has been going well! We are staying in the shade as it’s been 100 degrees this week. 🙂
This week, Cindy March (FMN Board member) is at it again with her creative tips, today’s ‘Five for Friday’ is going to help jumpstart your prayer life!
Hi everyone! Have you spent any quiet time in prayer today?
Many people are overwhelmed with the thought of how to begin speaking to our Heavenly Father. Let us do a basic start, a reminder of how to pray when our thoughts are jumbled and our world is “noisy”.
Look for a moment at your hand. This is your tool…your “Hand of Prayer.”
Thumb – this is the closest to you, right? So, pray for those closest to your heart – your family and loved ones.
Pointer – this finger reminds us to pray for those who point us to truth – our pastors, deacons, and teachers.
Tallest – this finger reminds us to pray for those in leadership, such as our government leaders.
Ring Finger – this is our weakest finger and reminds us to pray for those less fortunate, those in pain, weak, abused, neglected, and unnoticed.
Pinky – the smallest is the last. Lastly, pray for yourself and your personal needs.
Now, look at that hand again. See how amazing God, our Creator, made hands? Use this to help one another, serve one another, and PRAY.
There are many other versions of this hand prayer that are wonderful as well. If you would like to check out other versions, you can find those here:
Thank you, Cindy! A simple way to guide us through prayer and help us to connect to our Father!
So thankful that He hears us, He knows us, and He never leaves us. We can cling to that truth today!
Bonus: My sweet mama has been loving this song lately and I thought you might like to turn it up in your car as well. 🙂
Have a blessed weekend, Forget Me Not family!
Rachel
