Providing food for the Roma while empowering & raising self esteem
Our food co-op was created as a way to allow the families to provide food for their children weekly, as well as empower them to be able to make their own decisions regarding what food they “purchase” each week with their earned points.
In order to participate, a member from each family volunteers 30 minutes per week cleaning or restocking the food co-op, and this qualifies them to shop each Friday for food for their family.
Through attending our programs and interacting with our projects (After School program, etc) the families earn points, known as Hope Bucks which they use to purchase items from the Food Co-Op.
